a {em roman dominating function} on a graph $g = (v ,e)$ is a function $f : vlongrightarrow {0, 1, 2}$ satisfying the condition that every vertex $v$ for which $f (v) = 0$ is adjacent to at least one vertex $u$ for which $f (u) = 2$. the {em weight} of a roman dominating function is the value $w(f)=sum_{vin v}f(v)$. the roman domination number of a graph $g$, denoted by $gamma_r(g)$, equals the...

In this paper, we continue the study of the domination game in graphs introduced by Brešar, Klavžar, and Rall [SIAM J. Discrete Math. 24 (2010) 979–991]. We study the total version of the domination game and show that these two versions differ significantly. We present a key lemma, known as the Total Continuation Principle, to compare the Dominator-start total domination game and the Staller-st...

In this paper, we continue the study of the domination game in graphs introduced by Bre{v{s}}ar, Klav{v{z}}ar, and Rall. We study the paired-domination version of the domination game which adds a matching dimension to the game. This game is played on a graph $G$ by two players, named Dominator and Pairer. They alternately take turns choosing vertices of $G$ such that each vertex chosen by Domin...

The game domination number is a graph invariant that arises from a game, which is related to graph domination in a similar way as the game chromatic number is related to graph coloring. In this paper we show that verifying whether the game domination number of a graph is bounded by a given integer is PSPACEcomplete. This contrasts the situation of the game coloring problem whose complexity is s...

In this paper, we introduce a fractional domination game arising from fractional domination problems on graphs and focus on its balancedness and concavity. We first characterize the core of the fractional domination game and show that its core is always non-empty taking use of dual theory of linear programming. Furthermore we study concavity of this game.

We introduce the concept of guarded subgraph of a graph, which as a condition lies between convex and 2-isometric subgraphs and is not comparable to isometric subgraphs. Some basic metric properties of guarded subgraphs are obtained, and then this concept is applied to the domination game. In this game two players, Dominator and Staller, alternate choosing vertices of a graph, one at a time, su...

The rainbow game domination subdivision number of a graph G is defined by the following game. Two players D and A, D playing first, alternately mark or subdivide an edge of G which is not yet marked nor subdivided. The game ends when all the edges of G are marked or subdivided and results in a new graph G′. The purpose of D is to minimize the 2-rainbow dominating number γr2(G ′) of G′ while A t...

The domination game is played on an arbitrary graph $G$ by two players, Dominator and Staller. It is known that verifying whether the game domination number of a graph is bounded by a given integer $k$ is PSPACE-complete. On the other hand, it is showed in this paper that the problem can be solved for a graph $G$ in $mathcal O(Delta(G)cdot |V(G)|^k)$ time. In the special case when $k=3$ and the...
